Meet Andrew Ingredients

With a partnership spanning over 20 years, Andrew Ingredients is one of our most valued and long-standing distributors. Established in 1945, it was founded by W.H (Bill) Andrew in 1945 as an agent for bakery ingredients manufacturers. The company started life supplying the Northern Irish market before moving into the Republic of Ireland in 2008 and Great Britain in 2018.

Leavening agents have a long and rich history in Irish baking, with soda breads being an iconic product. As consumer trends and tastes have evolved, the need for technical solutions such as those provided by Kudos Blends has become very apparent: to reduce salt levels, improve production processes and enhance flavour in traditional Irish products such as soda bread, wheaten bread, soda farls, and a wide range of confectionery goods.

What sets your business apart from other distributors?

At Andrew Ingredients, we are highly focused on customer service and technical support. We are at our best when collaborating with our customers and suppliers to create amazing products. To facilitate this, we built our own on-site test bakery, “Bill’s Bakery”, named after our founder. We also have an in-house Applications and NPD team to support our customers with product development and problem-solving briefs. This collaborative way of working has become so important to the company that we created a standalone brand for it called “WorkWith”. We want our customers to come to Bill’s Bakery and WorkWith Andrew Ingredients, WorkWith our suppliers and WorkWith the best!


What key milestones or achievements has your company reached over the years?

2025 is an exciting year for Andrew Ingredients because we are celebrating 80 years in business. To commemorate this, we are holding a supplier exhibition at our site in Lisburn, Northern Ireland on 25th and 26th June. We are delighted that Kudos Blends will be exhibiting at the event, allowing our customers to engage directly with their technical team to discuss their range of products and solutions.


Can you share a unique story about your company that many people might not know?

The Andrew family are keen sailors and believe it or not, back in the distant past, the company actually sold yachts as well as baking ingredients!


How has the demand for our products changed in your region over the past few years?

The demands on bakers are being driven by consumer trends including things like salt reduction and sustainability. Kudos Blends have excellent solutions for this in terms of low-sodium options and products that increase shelf-life and reduce waste.


What are your goals for the future as a distributor?

Our mission is to provide the best ingredients, service and value to bakers and food makers so they can do what they do best: make amazing products! We will keep doing this and stay passionate about the baking industry and that will give us the platform for the continued growth of the business.

Our team of 55 is the heart of Andrew Ingredients. Many have been with us for years, and their deep industry knowledge, commitment to quality, and customer-first approach are what set us apart. We’re proud to have a culture that blends professionalism with a family ethos – a legacy of our founder, Bill Andrew.
