Lewis completed a master’s degree in chemistry from the University of York before joining Kudos Blends as part of the graduate programme where he gained a significant amount of hands-on experience in both factory and warehouse operations through a 6-week induction programme, before completing a 6-month placement in the quality department, gaining valuable insights into quality control and assurance.
He is now a full-time R&D chemist to which he brings a wealth of scientific and practical knowledge. He has specific responsibilities in overseeing the NPD process and in the approval of new raw materials. Lewis excels in finding innovative solutions to complex challenges, with a knack for seeing a problem from different angles. His expertise has proven invaluable in the successful development of tailored baking powders for customers in order to meet their unique requirements. He particularly enjoys longer-term projects investigating new raw materials and developing methods of analysis.
Beyond his professional life, Lewis has a passion for sport, especially football, American football and cricket. When he’s not watching sports, he enjoys going to the cinema to watch films of all genres and attending live music events, a particular favourite being The 1975. He also has an aspiration to travel and see new places, and combines this interest with his skills in cooking. Lewis loves to try recipes from places he has been to or is going to, like Vietnamese Báhn Mì and Hungarian Paprikash just to name a few.
