At Kudos Blends, innovation is at the heart of everything we do. Dinnie Jordan, our founder and managing director, remains committed to reinvesting back into the business, providing upgrades and innovations that drive growth and keep us at the forefront of the industry.
As part of our commitment to continuous improvement, 2025 has already seen some exciting developments, starting with the relocation and transformation of our test bakery — and that is just the beginning.
In this article, we will take you behind the scenes of the transformation and share how the new test bakery helps us push our boundaries and support our customers.

Not Just a Practical Move
Recently, our operations team moved from their previous office to a new dedicated space within our manufacturing site’s core. This move not only provided us with much-needed additional space but also allowed us to repurpose the office into the brand-new test bakery. It has also given the laboratory room to expand into the old bakery space.
All of these changes are not just about gaining more space; they are about creating a dedicated environment for bakery innovation, providing our laboratory team with the room they need to grow, and bringing our operations team closer to manufacturing to help everything run even more smoothly.
From Office to Test Bakery
Transforming a simple office into a fully equipped professional bakery was no easy feat. Using their deep understanding of customer processes and insights from other test bakeries, our bakery team reimagined the space to mirror the real-world environments our customers work in every day.

A Space Designed for Innovation and Collaboration
The revamped bakery is not just bigger — it is smarter. With this upgrade, we have invested in further equipment that mirrors what our customers use. This allows us to streamline and mirror their processes, enabling us to troubleshoot bakery challenges and fine-tune our leavening solutions with even greater precision.
During the upgrade, collaboration was a big focus. We introduced a versatile new presentation area, complete with moveable worktops that adapt to different setups as well as space to add seating, providing us with the ability to present research, walk through projects, and host customers — both in-person and virtually — creating a more dynamic, engaging experience.
Paul Hollywood, our senior development manager, stated, “The bakery presents a professional look that highlights the great potential for Kudos Blends to collaborate closely with its customers.”
We have also relocated our analysis suite into the bakery itself. This smart move tightens the feedback loop between testing and results, improving communication and speeding up our work.

Built for Our Customers’ Needs
Supporting our customers’ success is very important to us. We know that no two bakery manufacturers are the same, which is why we do not believe in a one-size-fits-all approach to leavening. Our team works closely with customers on projects, helping to refine their processes and solve challenges unique to their products. Upgrading the bakery means we can provide faster project turnarounds and more responsive customer service.
Our test bakery is a key part of our R&D — a space where we can trial, tailor, and perfect solutions in real-world conditions.
“The new bakery has really changed the game here at Kudos Blends. It’s a much larger and better laid out space which provides the perfect environment for innovation as well as for hosting customers in training sessions and product demonstrations.” Lucy Willey, Bakery R&D Technologist
Ready for the Future
Our upgraded test bakery is more than just a new space. It is a testament to our passion for innovation, collaboration, and customer success.
By aligning our facilities even more closely with real-world bakery conditions, we are better equipped than ever to develop technically-driven, practical solutions that help our customers succeed.
We cannot wait to dive into new projects, welcome visitors, and show off everything the new space has to offer!
