We have recently reached an important safety milestone at Kudos Blends…drumroll please…2,000 working days without a Lost Time Incident!
A Lost Time Incident is a work-related injury or illness that means an employee is unable to carry out their normal duties for at least one full working day. Reaching 2,000 working days without one is a significant achievement and reflects the care and attention our team puts into working safely every day.
And 2,000 working days is no small number. It represents tens of thousands of working hours across our production facility, laboratory, bakery, warehouse, offices and maintenance teams, with everyone playing their part in keeping themselves and their colleagues safe.
As Nick Jones, Head of Health & Safety, explains:
“This key performance indicator reflects the strength of our safety culture and the consistent commitment demonstrated by every member of our team. Maintaining safe working practices requires care, accountability and shared responsibility, and this achievement highlights what can be accomplished when safety is prioritised.”
But reaching this milestone isn’t simply about having a good safety record. It is about the small, everyday actions that help keep people safe: following procedures, assessing risks, raising concerns, looking out for colleagues and taking the time to do things properly.
2,000 working days so far… and we’re keeping it going.
