Steph is the senior bakery technologist at Kudos Blends. She is a talented multi-award-winning head chef, pastry chef, restaurateur and culinary businesswoman. Recognising her immense talent and expertise, she was invited to join Kudos Blends in 2020, as a bakery technologist to help with new innovative product development.
An accomplished career began with a BTEC diploma in hotel, catering, and institute operations, with multiple distinctions. Having practiced her profession in 5-star hotels across the globe, Steph has also operated her own delicatessens, tearooms, and private catering businesses and was a longstanding member of The Guild of Fine Food Retailers and the British Independent Retailers Association. Her accolades include two entries in The Egon Ronay food guide, winning the ‘Soil Association Restaurant of the Year’, ‘Best Pub Restaurant’ and being a Salon Culinaire Silver Medallist for 3 tier wedding cakes and bronze medallist in margarine sculpture.
Whilst working for the Campden and Chorleywood Food Research Association (CCFRA) (now Campden BRI) as a scientific bakery technologist, she was responsible for initiating, conducting, and managing projects for global organizations, along with initiating research projects in conjunction with the UK Food Standards Association.
Sharing her culinary knowledge and expertise, she has experience in tutoring cookery, cake decorating, creative arts & ceramics. Steph uses her expertise in the development of client recipes and methods, and in-depth knowledge of food science and ingredients technology to enable her to understand the subtle intricacies of effective recipe manipulation.
Steph’s creative flair and enthusiasm are evident in all that she does and continues outside of the workplace. She is well-loved locally, and the centre of her community in Rock Village, organising events and working as a face painter at local events. Steph is also a skilled artist who turns her hand to sculpture, sewing, upcycling and more, as well as having qualifications in Bowen Therapy, Swedish massage & Aromatherapy! She loves to travel and experience new cultures, especially the local food and wine, aspiring to do this even more in her later life.
