Laura leads our technical team, working with the quality and technical departments to uphold exceptional standards in food safety, quality, legality, and authenticity.
Laura holds a BSc in Economics with Spanish from Birmingham University, which included a year of studying in Quito, Ecuador. She brings over 20 years of expertise in the technical food chain with a career spanning farming, wholesale, food service, and retail, providing her with a well-rounded perspective within the industry. Her success in launching new products into retail, focusing on customer insights, variety development, and sensory evaluation has sharpened her unique understanding of the entire supply chain, food policies, and business organisation.
Dedicated to professional growth, Laura holds a BRCGS v9 lead auditor certificate, HACCP Level 4 and internal auditing qualifications. She also bolstered her technical skill set by completing a Microbiology course with Campden BRI. Her commitment to excellence was demonstrated when she managed five audits in a single year for a newly established factory – a testament to her ability to thrive under pressure with meticulous attention to detail.
A natural collaborator and problem-solver, Laura excels at working across departments to identify challenges, implement solutions, and develop strategic, cross-functional projects. She prioritises creating a positive team environment where colleagues feel motivated and valued.
Laura grew up on a family farm in Worcestershire, where summers spent working with horticultural crops sparked her lifelong interest in the food chain. After five adventurous years living, working, and travelling in South America, exploring the coast, Andes Mountains and jungle, Laura has settled near the picturesque Malvern Hills. Here, she enjoys creating vegetarian dishes, crafting homemade cider, exploring the countryside, swimming, making mosaics, and tending to her garden. Fluent in Spanish, Laura dreams of retiring to rural Spain, where she can indulge her passions.
