Lucy is our sales and bakery specialist. She began as a bakery R&D technologist and, with a passion for baking and an academic background in bakery science, brings a unique blend of creativity and scientific precision to her work. Her transition into a more technical sales-focused role was a natural progression, driven by her talent for building strong customer relationships. After initially leading sales across Australia and New Zealand, Lucy now supports UK customers as well, managing her accounts both commercially and technically. She acts as a bridge between the sales and bakery teams, overseeing the entire commercial journey.
Lucy achieved a first-class honours degree in bakery science and technology from the historic National Bakery School in London. During her studies, she completed internships as a pastry chef at the prestigious Savoy Hotel, and as a baker at Crumbs & Doilies, the iconic bakery founded by YouTube sensation Cupcake Jemma. Among her proudest achievements was being part of the team that created a cake for the Queen’s Jubilee celebrations, where she also had the opportunity to discuss the process with then-Prince Charles. She also contributed to cakes featured in two Lord Mayor’s Shows and marched in the televised parade representing her university.
This hands-on experience has given Lucy an in-depth understanding of what it takes to create exceptional baked products. Combined with her dissertation research into sugar reduction in baked goods, and extensive knowledge of chemical leavening she has gained in her 3 years at Kudos Blends, she is ideally placed to support customers in achieving both quality and nutritional goals.
Outside of work, Lucy has a passion for travel and experiencing new destinations. Alongside her professional trips, she has explored South-East Asia, Japan, America, Australia, New Zealand and lots of Europe. She has recently taken up running, is an avid reader, and loves exploring new restaurants and cuisines around the world, as well as experimenting with new recipes at home.
Looking ahead, Lucy hopes to continue supporting and inspiring others within the industry through teaching and mentoring, and one day aspires to write her own book, whether recipe-focused or fiction.
