Nick is head of health & safety at Kudos Blends with a proven track record in achieving quality, safety, and operational excellence. He joined Kudos Blends in 2017, bringing a wealth of knowledge and expertise through a diverse range of industries including environmental services, agricultural sales and food manufacturing.
Having always been involved in the operational aspects of business, but it was a move into health and safety that truly shaped Nick’s career. After obtaining the NEBOSH General Certificate in Health & Safety, Nick’s remit has since expanded to encompass all aspects of food safety, including HACCP, TACCP, VACCP, allergen controls, food safety and food quality.
Nick is well-versed in handling challenging projects, particularly those involving compliance, and has a unique ability to navigate complex landscapes, coordinate with multiple stakeholders, and balance legal requirements with business interests. He is proud to have been involved in several long-term projects involving the implementation of a compliance programme to produce a warranted product and here at Kudos he has made a lasting impact on the business, including the fabrication, installation and commissioning of a new production facility.
Outside of work, Nick loves the countryside and is a self-confessed country bumpkin at heart. He is also a huge sports fan with a particular passion for cricket and darts. His dedication to teamwork and leadership extends beyond the workplace, having been the local cricket club secretary for over 15 years. During his tenure, he played a pivotal role in introducing a junior section, expanding the club to field two teams regularly, organising highly successful fundraising events and establishing financial security. However, his greatest love is spending time with his family.
Having a well-established auditing programme is essential to verify the effective implementation of systems, whether they are quality, food safety, health and safety or maintenance.
Kudos Blends was presented with its BRC AA+ certificate on 3rd October 2023. Our managing director, quality team and everyone involved were thrilled with the outcome, and it continues to show our commitment to food safety.
The end of 2022 is closing in and here at Kudos, we are delighted to have completed our sixth audit this year achieving BRC AA certification grade.
