Not many would be willing to run 10 km in sweltering temperatures close to 30 degrees, but two incredibly admirable members of the Kudos Blends team did just that on Sunday, 1st July.
In Cleobury Mortimer Running Club’s first ever 10k event, Kudos Blends also joined local businesses in sponsoring the event.
Ever the experts on all things potassium, Kudos Blends provided 200 nutritious bananas to top up runners’ electrolyte levels.
European Sales Manager, Donna Roper, and Calum Follan, who works in site services support, both achieved fantastic times with Calum recording an incredible 57 minutes and Donna, hot on his heels, crossing the line in 1 hour 8 minutes.
In addition to this impressive feat, Donna used the event to raise a significant amount for the Alzheimer’s Society: “It’s amazing that my aim of raising £500 has been surpassed – thank you to every supporter. Both of my late grandmothers sadly suffered from dementia, therefore I’d like to support other families affected by this condition”. Calum participated in the race for his own personal achievement this time around, but plans to fundraise in the future: “My next race is the Tenbury 10k on 5th August and l will be raising money for Birmingham’s Queen Elizabeth Hospital, where my uncle Christopher is being treated for kidney failure.” If you would like to donate, please visit Calum’s page: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/calum-follan
